Assessment
Overview
Assessments may be formative (they provide feedback which students can use to improve), summative (students receive a mark which contributes to their overall module mark) or both. For summative assessment it is very important that the correct procedures are adhered to.
These articles cover pedagogic principles around assessment practices, both formative and summative, and some of the tools that can be used to conduct assessments.
For assessment procedures, see the section on assessments in the FET module leader’s handbook.
